Redact a Bank Statement (Free, In-Browser)

Black out account numbers, names, and other details on a PDF bank statement. Redaction is burned into the image and exported as a new image-only PDF, so covered text can't be recovered. Runs entirely in your browser.

Need to share a bank statement for proof of address or income but want to hide the account number, balance, or other transactions? Upload the PDF, drag boxes over anything sensitive, and download a redacted copy. Everything happens in your browser — the file is never uploaded.

Redaction that actually removes the data

Drawing a black box on a normal PDF is not safe: the text usually sits underneath and can be copied straight back out. This tool avoids that trap. It rasterizes each page to an image, burns the black boxes into the pixels, and exports a brand-new image-only PDF. None of the original text, fonts, annotations, or metadata are carried over, so the covered content can't be selected, searched, or recovered.

How to use it

  1. Upload your PDF statement (up to 20 MB / 30 pages).
  2. Drag a box over each detail you want to hide. Use the page controls to move between pages and zoom in for precision; Undo or Clear page to adjust.
  3. Review every page — you are responsible for covering each visible occurrence.
  4. Download the redacted PDF and open it to confirm the boxes are solid before you share it.

Things to know

  • The result is an image-only PDF: the covered content is gone, but the remaining text is no longer selectable or searchable, and the file is a little larger and less accessible.
  • It hides what you cover on the page. It does not strip hidden data from a file without redacting it, and it can't recover anything for you — it only removes.
  • For collecting statements as proof of income, redact only what the recipient doesn't need.
